Hello, BCA! I am blessed to be starting my fifth year at this school. I feel it has been a privilege getting to know the families thus far and look forward to meeting many more to come. Teaching has been a part of my life in various ways throughout the years. My previous career was in dance. I was both an instructor and performer. I loved being in my studio and reaching the children through movement and expression. I cherished the relationships built with the parents over the years. Upon closing my studio it did not take long to realize that dance was a gift, but teaching (and learning from) children was my passion. That is how I came to be an education teacher, earning my Masters in Elementary Education and Masters of Teaching from Grand Canyon University.
My husband, Michael, and I have two ornery children, Max 13 and Jane 7. We enjoy watching America's Got Talent and American Ninja Warrior as a family. The kiddos enjoy swimming and playing MineCraft. Max's golden retriever is named Lady and Jane's Yorkie-poo is named Marvin.
My belief in the Lord Jesus is a continually developing relationship. It is truly a blessing to know that whatever life brings me, eventually, I can pinpoint the Hand of God and the direction He chose for my path. Jesus loved and showed that love to the children who surrounded Him. It is my prayer that I can share that kind of unconditional love with those of my new First Grade Family. We are all children of God. I pray you feel my support and I am honored to be joining your child's team. Blessings on this new year!

After 6 years of subbing, I joined Brice Christian Academy as a 4th grade teacher. I am starting my 8th year here at Brice.
Christian Testimony: I was born into a loving home with parents who took me to church each Sunday. I was raised in the Methodist Church. Life got tough in my early 20's and I found myself seeking the Lord for comfort through my trials. As life continued on I discovered that the commintment I made to Christ when I was young was not enough. Being a Christian was more of a process then I had realized. So, over the years, I have taken steps to grow my faith. My goal is to be less like me and more like Jesus. The unthinkable happened in our family 4 years ago. Our eldest son, Ben, passed. He was only 22. It was a hard time in our life. But, an amazing thing happened. My husband and I held on tight to the Lord. And the Lord gave us PEACE. And my husband and myself grew even closer together. And our resolve to serve the Lord became stronger. I know that my son is in heaven, and he is safe with the Lord. And we look for the day when we will once again be united with him in heaven. For know, serving the Lord, however he calls, is our life goal.

I believe that education should be valued, and that every child should be given a chance to improve themselves through learning. My family's motto has always been "If it is to be, it is up to me!" What a child/family does with this educational opportunity is up to them, but I will do my best to instill a love of learning into my students.
I have attended church all my life. I received the Holy Ghost when I was six in a barn that had been renovated for Children's Church. When I was eight, I decided I wanted to be baptized. Life is not easy, but God has always been there with me and for me even when I have gone to different countries on mission trips. I now attend Turnpoint Apostolic Church in Groveport, Ohio.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Andy, since October 2011. Our son, Samuel, joined our family in 2014. I am part of a family of six that is constantly growing with nephews, nieces, and in-laws.
I am blessed to be returning to BCA for my third year of teaching. This year I will be able to focus on the reading portion of ELA and I look forward to this wonderful opportunity. I graduated from the University of Rio Grande with a Bachelor's Degree in English. I am certified by the State of Ohio to teach English, grades 4-12. This is my second career choice and I can't imagine doing anything else.
I reside in Canal Winchester with my husband of almost 21 years and my two children, ages 16 and 9. We currently have a 5 year old mutt from the humane society, a few fish, and a turtle. We are active members of Eastland Christian Church where I am involved in the youth and music programs. I love camping and hiking with my family and enjoy reading and singing in my spare time.
I fully believe that God has equipped each child for a purpose and that each child is capable of success. My purpose is to encourage each one to fulfill that purpose and to give them the tools they need for success in the classroom and beyond. God placed me here for a reason and I am thrilled to be able to share my love of learning and my love of God with your child.

Philosophy of Christian Education:Our goal as christian educators should be to support
the children in their walk with Christ. We should also be aware of children in their special talents and needs and accept them accordingly. I see christian educators many times go the extra mile to help a child or to support a parent in times of trouble or for a shoulder to cry on. I believe when these things are accomplished the children will take what they have been a part of and take it into the world.
